Brilliant® has been retained by a Chicago-based, Global Supply Chain company ($1.1 billion) to assist with the hiring of their CFO for the Americas operations. This strategic hire will report to the Americas CEO and dotted line to the global CFO. The ideal candidate will have led large teams, handled all finance and accounting operations and should possess strong accounting knowledge from a business perspective. Global supply chain industry experience is required along with IFRS accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- Strong accounting knowledge from a business perspective
- A proven record of accomplishment in various accounting positions – from ground up to staff accountant all the way up through to a controller’s position
- The successful candidate will need to work with banks in negotiating financing for equipment, facilities and property, as well as have a background and knowledge of handling the daily requirements of day-to-day banking
- Strong communication skills are essential, not just with counterparts, but with all levels of team members throughout entire company
- Multitasking and being able to handle numerous projects at one time will be essential
Job specifics:
- The CFO role will report through to the Americas CEO, however with a dotted line to our Global CFO – who is based in New Zealand
- Will lead a team of 4 controllers (one for each of our different products/divisions in the Americas), as well as a wider finance team consisting of an additional ~20 team members from payroll to cash applications
- Will need to assist branches and branch managers due to being a decentralized business with no large central accounting team, much of the accounting functions are pushed out to the branches
- Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
