Assistant Controller
Location: Kenosha, WI (On-Site)
Compensation: $130K + 15% Bonus + Profit Sharing, full HC package

Company Overview
A financially strong and stable manufacturing company with over 100 years of history is seeking an Assistant Controller to join its growing team. As an Assistant Controller, you will work closely with the Controller to oversee the financial health of the organization, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. You will play a key role in month-end close, financial consolidations, cost accounting, and budgeting. Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy in financial statements and adherence to GAAP
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements for multiple business units
• Manage and execute balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and intercompany transactions
• Partner with the Controller on financial forecasting and budgeting processes
• Oversee standard costing processes, ensuring accurate inventory valuation and cost allocations
• Analyze cost variances and provide recommendations to improve profitability
• Ensure accurate inventory accounting, including cycle counts, inventory reserves, and valuation adjustments
• Support operational teams with cost control initiatives and financial insights
• Audit, Compliance & Tax
• Support annual third-party financial audits, ensuring timely responses and compliance with internal policies
• Assist in the preparation of documentation for sales tax and corporate tax filings
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensuring SOX compliance where applicable
• Identify and implement continuous process improvements to increase efficiency within accounting operations
• Support the separation of business operations, ensuring a smooth financial transition
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• CPA or CPA track
• 5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing or distribution/wholesale
• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience with standard costing, consolidations, and inventory accounting
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
