Role Overview: Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in the search for an Accounts Payable Manager. Our client located in Naperville, IL is looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join their team and lead the AP team within a shared services center. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the AP function and establishing the AP shared services function. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply immediately!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead initiatives to optimize and standardize accounts payable processes across multiple business units.
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable function, ensuring invoices and vendor payments are processed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve AP policies, workflows, and internal controls to support an efficient shared services environment.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities and leverage ERP technology to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors by resolving payment issues, responding to inquiries, and ensuring adherence to agreed-upon payment terms.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the Accounts Payable team while promoting operational excellence and continuous development.
- Assist with monthly and annual financial close activities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and reporting requirements.
- Track key performance indicators, analyze trends, and implement improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and service levels.
- Prepare reports and communicate departmental performance, operational metrics, and improvement initiatives to finance leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Procurement, and Accounting teams to support business objectives and enhance operational effectiveness.
- 7-10 years of AP experience
- Ability to mentor and train a team in a growing environment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to be flexible in a changing environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
