Job Title: Controller - Manufacturing
Location: Skokie, IL (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $150,000 to $170,000 + Bonus & Benefits
We’re partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the North Suburbs on a Controller search. This is a high impact, hands on leadership role within a startup environment where you’ll have the opportunity to build structure, strengthen processes, and serve as a strategic partner to ownership.
The organization is in growth mode and needs a strong accounting leader who can operate both strategically and tactically. If you enjoy building scalable processes, improving visibility into operations, and working closely with manufacturing leadership, this could be a strong fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Lead inventory and cost accounting for manufacturing operations
- Maintain general ledger integrity and oversee all technical accounting matters
- Develop and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures
- Partner with operations on inventory management, production costing, and margin analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Prepare financial reporting packages for ownership and lenders
- Manage audit coordination and external relationships
Qualifications
- 8 plus years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior manufacturing and cost accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and standard costing
- Experience working in a startup or high growth environment preferred
- ERP experience required
- CPA preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
