Job Title: Accounting Specialist
Location: 100% Remote
Pay Range: $35-43/hour
Contract: 3+ Months
Role Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist for a contract opportunity supporting the finance team, with a primary focus on accounts receivable, account reconciliations, and process improvement. This individual will investigate and resolve ledger discrepancies, address aging balances, and improve billing and payment workflows for a designated customer account. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience working in a large ERP system.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform detailed account reconciliations, analyze ledger discrepancies, and resolve outstanding aging balances for a designated customer account

Research and resolve billing and payment issues in collaboration with customer representatives and internal accounting teams

Identify root causes of recurring billing and payment discrepancies and recommend process improvements to prevent future issues

Evaluate existing workflows and implement best practices to improve account accuracy, payment processing, and overall efficiency

Partner with internal finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and support timely collections

Follow up on specific past-due invoices and investigate issues contributing to payment delays

Assist with additional accounts receivable tasks, special projects, and other duties as assigned by the finance team and CFO
Qualifications:

Previous experience in accounting, with a strong emphasis on accounts receivable and account reconciliations

Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and work with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables

Experience working with large ERP systems and financial data

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes
