Job Title: Staff Accountant – Cash Reconciliation Project
Location: Chicago, IL – Remote
Salary: $35–$37/hour, based on experience

Role Overview:
Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for a Staff Accountant to support a cash reconciliation cleanup project with a growing hospitality technology company. The organization provides technology and managed services to hotels, including internet/Wi-Fi, voice, contact center, and managed IT solutions. This is a project-focused accounting opportunity where the primary objective will be to clean up approximately one year of unreconciled activity within a large money market account, tying bank activity back to the general ledger and ensuring balances are accurate and properly supported.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile approximately one year of historical activity within a large money market account
- Tie bank statements and transaction activity back to the general ledger
- Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies and outstanding reconciling items
- Ensure cash balances are accurate and properly supported
- Perform detailed bank and cash reconciliations
- Research historical transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatment
- Assist with cleaning up the company's existing cash reconciliation process
- Support the transition toward utilizing the NetSuite cash reconciliation module
- Work with the accounting team to ensure historical activity is properly documented
- Assist with additional reconciliations, accounting cleanup, and general accounting projects following completion of the initial project
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience performing bank and cash reconciliations
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting
- Experience researching and resolving discrepancies and outstanding items
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work through historical accounting data
- Comfortable working independently on a defined cleanup project
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- NetSuite experience is preferred
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
- Comfortable working remotely and managing project deadlines independently
