Job Title: Coax Splicer/Technician x5 (Majority of hours will be 3rd shift)

We are seeking a skilled Coax Splicer/Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and repair of coaxial cable networks within telecommunications infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for performing coax splicing, activation, troubleshooting, and testing to ensure reliable network performance for residential, commercial, and utility systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in outside plant (OSP) environments, understands RF signal integrity, and can work safely in field conditions while meeting project timelines and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Perform coaxial cable splicing, termination, and activation in aerial and underground plant environments

Install, maintain, and repair coax distribution systems and network components

Troubleshoot signal loss, ingress/egress issues, and service interruptions

Read and interpret system maps, prints, and network design documentation

Perform signal level testing using RF meters and diagnostic equipment

Balance and optimize coax networks to meet system performance standards

Install connectors, splitters, taps, amplifiers, and related hardware

Conduct system sweep and alignment activities as required

Ensure all work complies with company quality standards and safety regulations

Document completed work, redlines, and test results accurately

Coordinate with construction crews, engineers, and project managers as needed
Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience working with coaxial cable systems in telecom or cable environments

Experience with coax splicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting
-
Knowledge of RF fundamentals and signal flow concepts

Ability to read construction prints and network schematics

Experience working in outside plant (OSP) environments

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders/poles when required
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MSOs or broadband providers (HFC networks)

Sweep and balance experience

Bucket truck or aerial lift experience

OSHA 10/30 certification

Fiber experience is a plus
