Job Title: OSP Engineer (x6)
Location: 100% Remote (CST hours)
Salary Range: $26-$30/hr (Potential flex if needed)

Role Overview:
- The OSP (Outside Plant) Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, and overseeing the construction and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic and copper networks.
- This role ensures compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications while managing project deliverables from concept through completion.
- The OSP Engineer collaborates with internal teams, external contractors, and permitting authorities to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning
- Develop detailed OSP designs using AutoCAD and GIS tools.
- Conduct route planning, make-ready analysis, and pole loading calculations.
- Prepare construction drawings and specifications for aerial, underground, and buried networks.
- Project Coordination
- Work with project managers to define scope, budget, and timelines.
- Coordinate with permitting agencies and utility companies for approvals.
- Perform field surveys or direct survey teams to validate design feasibility.
- Quality Control
- Review and redline design packages to ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, and client standards.
- Provide quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaboration
- Interface with construction teams, vendors, and municipalities.
- Act as a technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving design conflicts.
- Mentorship
- Support junior engineers and designers through training and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- Education:
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Civil, or Electrical Engineering preferred. - Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years in OSP engineering or telecom infrastructure design. - Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, and related design tools.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper network design principles.
- Knowledge of permitting processes and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
