Brilliant Financial Staffing has been engaged in a search for a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist for our client located in Oak Brook IL. Our client is a well-established healthcare organization who provides various outpatient surgical care. They are looking for a Medical Billing & Collections Specialist to join their team. The Medical Billing & Collections Specialist will be primarily responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage, following up on outstanding claims, investigating denials/rejections and preparing appeal documentation. This is a great opportunity to work in a well-established, team-oriented environment. The ideal Medical Billing & Collections Specialist would be able to interview and then start shortly after.
Medical Billing & Collections Specialist Responsibilities:
- Manage medical billing and collections processes, including claims submission, insurance follow-up, EOB processing, and denial management
- Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, deductibles, and co-payments to ensure accurate billing
- Prepare and submit primary and secondary insurance claims with correct CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes
- Follow up on outstanding claims, investigate denials, and prepare compelling appeal documentation
- Post insurance payments, reconcile accounts receivable, and address over-payments or adjustments
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to patient billing inquiries and collaborating with insurance payors, surgeons, and internal teams
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail while managing a high volume of claims and tight deadlines
Medical Billing & Collections Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing and collections
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes, claims submission, and denials management
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively under deadlines and manage high-volume workflows
- Strong communication skills for working with payors, patients, and internal teams
