Senior Accountant (Manager Track)

Position Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for a results-driven accounting professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is ready to take on a management-track position. The Senior Accountant will handle complex financial reporting, oversee month-end close processes, and contribute to continuous improvements across the accounting function. The right candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, leadership potential, and the ambition to advance into a management role.
Key Responsibilities
- 
	Lead and execute the month-end close process for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. 
- 
	Prepare and review consolidated and stand-alone financial statements in accordance with GAAP. 
- 
	Oversee journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals for assigned entities. 
- 
	Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management, and finance teams to ensure data integrity and alignment. 
- 
	Support external audits, providing schedules, documentation, and explanations as needed. 
- 
	Analyze financial results, identify trends or discrepancies, and present findings to senior management. 
- 
	Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and professional development. 
- 
	Assist with the implementation of process improvements and system enhancements to optimize reporting and workflow. 
- 
	Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. 
- 
	Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as assigned. 
Qualifications
- 
	Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA designation preferred. 
- 
	5+ years of progressive accounting experience; combination of public accounting (regional or national firm) and corporate accounting strongly preferred. 
- 
	Experience with real estate, construction, or related industries a plus, but not required. 
- 
	Demonstrated success managing complex financials across multiple entities. 
- 
	Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. 
- 
	Prior supervisory or team lead experience required. 
- 
	Strong attention to detail, organization, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
- 
	Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (such as Sage 300, Yardi, or similar). 
Career Path
This position is designed as a management-track role. The selected candidate will have the opportunity for advancement to Accounting Manager or related leadership positions as they demonstrate capability, initiative, and leadership.
