Title: Project Manager – Network Cabling / Hyperscale Data Centers (Travel Role)
Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire
Location: Central Mountain and Eastern Time Zones (Full-Time Travel)
Compensation:
Direct Hire: Up to $130K base + car allowance, cell phone, bonus pool eligibility.
Contract to hire: $50-$60/hr. + car allowance, cell phone, bonus pool eligibility + Per Diem
Overview:
We are seeking experienced Project Managers with a strong background in network cabling and hyperscale data center environments. These roles require extensive travel and a hands-on approach to managing large-scale, complex projects for top-tier clients in the technology space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of low voltage / Layer 1 physical infrastructure projects in hyperscale data center environments.
- Manage project budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and change orders (candidates will complete a budgeting/change order exercise during the interview process).
- Lead and coordinate on-site teams, including blue-collar construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to client specifications.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the client and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution.
- Proven track record as a Project Manager in hyperscale data center builds (Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, Google, etc.).
- Low voltage and network cabling project management experience.
- Strong budgeting and cost management skills, including hands-on experience with change orders.
- Comfortable working closely with and managing blue-collar construction teams.
- Extensive travel experience and flexibility to be onsite at various client locations.
- 5 years’ experience as a project manager in a leadership role (including training) or labor-management experience, including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
- 3 years’ experience on Mission Critical Data Centers for large hyperscale projects
- Knowledge of construction technology, electronics integration, scheduling, equipment and methods preferred
