Job Title: Lead Azure Data Engineer
Location: Deerfield, FL (Hybrid Model; 3 days onsite/week)
Pay Range: $70/hr - $85/hr.
Job Type: Targeting a 6 month contract to hire

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our growing data engineering team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions built on Microsoft Azure technologies. This position offers the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of data professionals while collaborating cross-functionally to support a wide range of strategic business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions that meet enterprise-grade requirements

Lead and mentor Data Engineers and Data Analysts to ensure delivery of high-quality work

Establish and enforce best practices and standards across data integration and engineering activities

Collaborate closely with architects, analysts, report developers, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs

Act as a subject matter expert in ETL tools, data pipelines, and performance optimization techniques

Provide strategic input into data architecture, data preparation, and modeling practices

Stay current on emerging tools, technologies, and trends within cloud data ecosystems—especially within Microsoft Azure

Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the data team and across business units

Ensure data reliability, integrity, and performance in an Agile development environment

Help guide large-scale projects with a focus on scalability, security, and long-term sustainability
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience with SQL and working in a data engineering or similar data-focused role

5+ years of hands-on experience with ETL development and data integration tools

Strong familiarity with Azure cloud services (Particularly Synapse) is required

Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and Azure DevOps is a plus

Industry background in automotive, finance, or other regulated sectors is a bonus

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams
