Vice President of Finance (Future CFO Potential)
Our client, a rapidly growing provider in the essential services sector, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Finance, with a clear path toward a Chief Financial Officer position. This individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial strategy, supporting operational growth, and building a best-in-class finance function in a fast-paced, acquisition-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy

Ensure the integrity of all financial data—historical and forecasted.

Oversee the full spectrum of finance and accounting, including:

General ledger oversight and monthly close

Financial reporting and consolidation
-
Cash flow and working capital management
-
Debt covenant compliance and reporting
-
Tax planning and filings
-
KPI development and dashboard reporting
-
Annual budgeting and operational planning (AOP)
-

Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to executive leadership and stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Partnership
-
Serve as a key advisor to the CEO, operational leadership, and Board.

Collaborate with local and regional business units to support financial transparency and performance.

Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of on-site finance teams; support hiring and development as needed.

Act as a sounding board for strategic decisions and business assessments.
Team Development

Build and lead a high-performing finance team, beginning lean and scaling with growth.

Train and mentor top finance talent to operate with deep industry knowledge and operational agility.

Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and business partnership.
Operational & Systems Oversight
-
Monitor performance against plan and prior years; support necessary course corrections.

Drive cost discipline across fixed and variable spend categories.

Ensure ongoing liquidity and prudent capital deployment.

Support optimization and compliance of the company’s credit facility.

Leverage financial systems and tools to streamline reporting and analytics.
2025 Objectives

Support the CEO in achieving targeted results as outlined in the Annual Operating Plan.

Lead weekly and monthly reporting cadence:

Weekly KPIs delivered early each week
-
Monthly reports and reviews delivered mid-month
-

Oversee seamless onboarding of acquired businesses:

Standardize reporting, chart of accounts, and accounting policies within 45 days of close

Lead opening balance sheet completion and integration
-

Manage all tax filings and credit reporting requirements for the year.

Partner with the leadership team and financial sponsors on strategic capital initiatives.
Field-Level Financial Support

Travel periodically to operational sites as needed.
-
Train local admin/accounting teams to manage site-level reporting and close cycles.
-
Implement core financial controls and reporting standards across the organization.
-
Support local leadership in interpreting KPIs and translating them into actionable steps.
Salary Range: $150 - $180K plus bonus and Equity
