A well-established company in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee financial operations, compliance, and strategic financial management. This leadership role is ideal for a forward-thinking finance professional with a strong background in construction accounting, financial reporting, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Develop and implement internal controls to enhance financial integrity and risk management.
- Act as the primary liaison for external audits, ensuring an efficient and compliant audit process.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and financial risk assessment.
- Spearhead the implementation and enhancement of financial systems to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional development and high-performance culture.
- Ensure compliance with multi-state tax regulations, including sales and use tax filings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CMA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role such as Controller.
- Experience in the construction industry, particularly in job costing and project-based accounting.
- Proficiency in construction management and accounting software (e.g., Sage 300).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing a finance team.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
