About the Job
In partnership with our client, a rapidly growing and well established real estate firm, we are seeking a Senior Real Estate Accountant to join their Corporate Accounting team in Minneapolis. You will play a key role in managing the full-cycle accounting process for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review financial statements.
- Generate monthly accruals and adjust journal entries.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
- Conduct analytical reviews of the general ledger.
- Track capital projects, calculate useful lives, and manage asset transitions from work in progress to service.
- Prepare and file recurring sales tax (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
- Develop annual budgets, reforecasts, and year-end operating expense reconciliations.
- Support annual tax filings and financial audits.
- Research and resolve accounting issues to minimize risks.
- Adhere to internal accounting policies and reporting requirements.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
- Strong background in financial statement preparation and general ledger reconciliation.
- Proficiency with Yardi, MRI, or JDE E1 software preferred.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
