Job Title: Assistant Controller

Role Overview:
As the Assistant Controller, you will report directly to the CFO and lead critical accounting operations, including managing the general ledger, overseeing payroll processing, and ensuring the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. You will be responsible for producing accurate financial statements, supervising the accounting team, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining the organization's financial health by driving financial reporting, implementing policies, and supporting mergers and acquisitions initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage financial statements, including balance sheets, invoices, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with upper management to identify cost reduction opportunities and manage liabilities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Compile accurate financial reports based on financial statements.
- Assist with developing forecasts and identifying variances from budget.
- Ensure accuracy of the monthly close process and implement efficiencies.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures for financial reporting.
- Handle full cycle payroll processes including tax withholding, benefits, and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and have a strong understanding of accounting principles
- CPA preferred but not required
- Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central or MS Great Plains
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with financial regulations
- Advanced skills with MS Excel
