The Senior Corporate Accountant will focus on key areas such as revenue, accounts receivable, payroll, and analytical procedures, while ensuring accurate reporting of both actual and estimated revenue. This role requires a solid understanding of the company’s billing systems and involves handling judgmental and potentially complex accounting matters. Reporting to the Corporate Accounting Manager, the Senior Corporate Accountant should be growth-oriented with a focus on continual learning.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute independently to the core accounting team, ensuring an accurate, timely, and efficient close process.
- Analyze and navigate complex, judgment-based accounting issues.
- Collaborate with third-party resources to bring close processes in-house.
- Partner with leadership to implement internal controls and support the development of a SOX-compliant accounting function.
- Execute controls, including account reconciliations, and respond to third-party auditor inquiries.
- Communicate risks, opportunities, and progress updates to the accounting leadership team.
- Participate in company-wide projects and process improvements, ensuring proper integration with the accounting function.
- Apply best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
- Support strategic financial and operational initiatives.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred but not mandatory.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, ideally combining corporate and public accounting or solely corporate experience.
- Experience with SOX compliance required.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
