The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for all aspects of data analysis, from meeting with stakeholders to define and gather requirements through the delivery of insightful and actionable analytics. The analyst is tasked with building KPI dashboards, scorecards, doing trend analysis, and other ad hoc analytics. Extraction, cleansing, and transformation of data are all necessary functions to creating and maintaining dashboards and analytics. Support the monthly accounting close process by supplying financial data and financial reporting as well as in the creation of ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform analysis and using advanced analytic tools, such as: Python, Advanced Excel with VBA, and SQL.
- Use analytic tools to create transformations/calculations from raw data files to produce custom outputs including importing/exporting .csv files, creating automated scripts to collect and combine files, and data scrubbing.
- Develop streamlined and automated approaches for gathering and delivering data, thereby reducing manual business processes where possible.
- Prepare project deliverables including written reports, data files, and Power Point presentations.
- Analyze results and create or maintain documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Analyze reporting requirements, extract, and interpret data, and ultimately provide recommendations to management.
- Document and track issues and test results, then constructively and concisely reports findings or discrepancies.
- Must possess the ability to clearly document reporting logic and processes for auditability.
- Identifies and reports suspicious activity.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in related analytical field (i.e. Management Information Systems, Engineering, Math/Statistics, or Computer Science) preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 4 years of requisite data analysis and analytics experience
- Basic understanding of any programming language and concepts required. (Can learn Python or VBA on the job if experienced in another language.)
- Excellent verbal and writing skills with a strong business acumen required.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in data analysis, design of KPI dashboards, scorecards, and ad hoc analysis required.
- Experience in extracting data from various pieces of software or websites (like bank accounts for reconciliations)
- 4 plus years of experience with BI Tools Python, R, SQL, or any other programing language, knowledge of dash boarding tools like Tableau or Power BI is desirable.
