Our client, a Private Equity organization in the Miami area is in need of a Senior Accountant.  The need is immediate for a consulting engagement with the potential of becoming permanent.  The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the corporate general ledger and managing consolidations in support of the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in conformity with US GAAP.  This role provides assistance with a broad range of corporate accounting functions including financial close and consolidation, financial systems implementations, financial planning and analysis.  The Senior Accountant reports to the Controller.  The Senior Accountant responsibilities and requirements are listed below   SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Responsibilities: Key member of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities Perform detailed departmental reviews, understanding actuals Work with FP&A to identify budget variances Prepare monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations Ensure general ledger postings are accurate and complete Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures and ensure compliance Maintain appropriate documentation to support the recording of financial transactions Participate in internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules Ensure appropriate documentation, and providing evidence of controls performed Identify and implement solutions to shorten the monthly close cycle Improve internal controls over financial reporting Drive process improvements by working cross-functionally within and outside of Finance Assist in ERP system implementation changes or upgrades Special projects as assigned   SENIOR ACCOUNTANT Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting experience (mix of public and industry preferred) CPA or CPA candidate preferred Full financial close cycle experience required Proficient in Excel (intermediate to advanced), Word, Access and Power Point ERP systems experience (Investron Must work well both independently and as part of a team Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and against established deadlines Excellent organization skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team player   If you or anyone you know is interested and qualified, please apply!

In advising clients, professionals will prepare and review complex tax models illustrating multinational entities' attributes, effective tax rate, and cash tax expense Advise multinational enterprises on tax planning decisions, including helping our clients anticipate and understand the potential short- and long-term considerations and consequences of tax planning decisions at a global level, in the context of their wider business objectives and taking into account a multinational's tax risk profile, global effective tax rate, and cash posture In collaboration with our colleagues in Mergers & Acquisition Tax, structure the tax aspects of multinational private equity and strategic mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, dispositions, and IPOs, along with drafting tax opinions, memos, structure decks, and Excel models (illustrating the tax benefits of alternative structures) Assist multinational enterprises with preparing the tax provision for its financial statements and preparing and/or reviewing compliance work product Tax Audits and Controversies – Evaluate requests for information from government officials and participate in developing strategies to successfully defend tax filing positions. Support the coordination and implementation of audit strategies. Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law or Relevant degree. Minimum of 10 years directly related and progressively responsible tax experience. CPA, CMA, LLM, EA, or relevant credential. Broad technical knowledge of US international tax law and regulations. Extensive knowledge of US GAAP. Excellent business acumen with a sound understanding of the tax implications of a multi-national manufacturing company. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong knowledge and capability to use advance technology in a day to day problem solve and to achieve strategic objectives Demonstrated ability to develop innovative and creative solutions to complex issues.
